Billy Strings takes Ball Arena two nights before closing at the Paramount, La Santa Cecilia shuts down Levitt's free season, and Aurelio Voltaire plays a goth bar on 17th for twenty dollars, September 18-20, 2026.
1. Aurelio Voltaire at The Crypt
Twenty dollars, Friday, 8 PM doors at The Crypt, 1618 East 17th Avenue in City Park West. Voltaire has been working dark cabaret longer than most of that room has been legally drinking, and this stop is the Between the Devil and the Demonatrix tour. 21 and over, small capacity, close enough that he will be visible to the naked eye. Best twenty dollars on this list.
2. Billy Strings at Ball Arena
Two nights, Friday and Saturday, and no setlist repeats across the run, which is the entire argument for going to both. Ball Arena, 1000 Chopper Circle in Auraria, on the light rail, so do not pay to park downtown twice in one weekend. These are the two nights of the three-night stand a normal person can actually buy.
3. La Santa Cecilia at Levitt Pavilion
Levitt Pavilion closes its free season Friday at 6 PM with La Santa Cecilia, a Grammy-winning band out of Los Angeles, playing Ruby Hill for nothing. Free admission, no ticket math, and then the lawn goes quiet until next summer. Bring a layer. September evenings out there turn on you fast.
4. Lily Allen Performs West End Girl at Red Rocks
Lily Allen performs West End Girl at Red Rocks on Friday at 7:30 PM. Album shows live or die on whether the record can carry a whole night, and this one is built to be heard in order. Tickets through AXS. Budget extra time for the climb down; the parking exodus in Morrison is always slower than you planned.
5. Amelie Lens at ReelWorks Denver
Belgian techno headliner Amelie Lens plays ReelWorks on Saturday, 1399 35th Street in RiNo. Pick this one if your weekend wants a concrete room and a long night instead of a lawn and a sweater.
6. Atmosphere with 3OH!3, Slick Rick and Z-Trip at Red Rocks
Saturday at Red Rocks, and the bill jumps decades on purpose: Slick Rick, Atmosphere, Z-Trip on the decks, and Colorado's own 3OH!3 rebuilding a stretch of 2009 that some of us worked hard to forget. Four acts that have almost nothing in common except knowing exactly what to do with that stage. Late September at that elevation is cold after dark, so bring a coat, not a hoodie.
7. Son Little: CityFolk Tour at Meow Wolf Denver
Son Little brings the CityFolk Tour to Meow Wolf Denver's performance space on Saturday, over in Sun Valley. Grammy-nominated soul and blues in a dedicated music room that plenty of people still do not realize is in there booking real touring acts.
8. Summer Sounds: Shakedown Street at Aerostat Park
Free Grateful Dead covers on a Saturday evening: Shakedown Street, one of the longest-running Dead tribute bands in the country, plays Aerostat Park in Westminster from 6 to 8:30 PM. The city invites blankets and coolers, which is the single most useful sentence in this edition. It is the last Summer Sounds date of 2026, run with the Westminster Chamber and the Downtown Westminster Business Association.
9. Elephant Revival Benefit Concert at Swallow Hill
Elephant Revival headlines a benefit for Swallow Hill Music on Saturday, with proceeds going to the nonprofit's music education programs. Ticketed, at Swallow Hill near Yale Station, part of the fall benefit series. A Colorado folk band playing a Colorado folk institution to keep kids in lessons is an easy yes.
10. Andrea Bocelli at Red Rocks
Bocelli plays two nights, Sunday and Monday, at 8 PM, and it stays one of the biggest annual draws the venue has. Go for the room rather than the seat, because those rocks do more for that voice than any sound system in the state. September at altitude means the second half is colder than the first. Coat.
11. Billy Strings at the Paramount Theatre
Sit this one out. The Paramount closes the three-night stand Sunday at 7:30 PM in a roughly 2,000-seat room at 1621 Glenarm Place, and it would be the show of the year if resale were not sitting at $900 and up. That is forty-five tickets to see Aurelio Voltaire at The Crypt. Take the Ball Arena nights instead, same guy, no repeated setlist, and spend the difference on literally anything else in this edition.
