What's actually worth doing in Denver.

Colorado turns 150 on Saturday and the presents go to you: a mile-long free dinner at the National Western Center, penny admission at MCA, free History Colorado, Colorado artists selling on the art museum plazas. Friday a nerdcore rapper marks 25 years inside an alien transit station. Big weekend for a state that started as a rumor about gold. Eat the cake.(Gil)

The Mile Long Table

Colorado turns 150 on Saturday, and Denver is marking it by setting a dinner table a mile long through the National Western Center and feeding everyone who claimed a seat, free. Gates at 5 PM, dinner at 6, music and cake after. The seat is free but not automatic: registration is required, and the organizers' own advice is to sign up early, which in Denver terms means today. The Stub covered every anniversary this city ever threw itself. Nobody once offered to feed us.
