Things To Do in Denver This Weekend: October 30 - November 1, 2026
The House of Omens plays out its final nights in Aurora, Four Mile Historic Park keeps the lanterns on after dark, and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science sets Venice against Mesa Verde and Rapa Nui, October 30 - November 1, 2026.

1. Dancing In The Dark: The House of Omens
A staged theatrical run across nine nights, not a walkthrough with somebody revving a chainsaw at the exit, and Halloween is the slot most likely to go first. The House of Omens runs on timed entry at The People's Building, 9995 East Colfax Avenue in Aurora, with evening blocks from 6:45 to 8:30 PM and matinees from 12:45 to 2:30 PM. The run ends Saturday, so this is all of it. Showtimes and pricing are posted at thepeoplesbuilding.com.
2. Changing Landscapes: Inside Venice, Mesa Verde and Rapa Nui at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Three World Heritage sites, one set of problems, and photogrammetry projections that let you trace rock art and then decide for yourself whether Venice raises its flood gates. Open 9 AM to 5 PM in City Park, included with museum admission at $27.95 for an adult, with parking on site off Colorado Boulevard. It hangs around through January 3, which makes it the pick to hold in reserve for the first bad weather weekend rather than the one to fight Halloween crowds for.
3. Bright Nights at Four Mile Historic Park
The lantern festival shrinks the park down to insect scale this year, which is Honey I Shrunk the Kids with a better lighting budget. Wednesdays through Sundays, 7 to 11 PM, through November 8, at Four Mile Historic Park in Washington Virginia Vale near Cherry Creek. Adults are $28 in advance or $30 at the walk up window, youth $21 or $23, members $20. Weekend time slots go first, so book Friday or Saturday now and keep Sunday as the fallback.
4. pARTy and Rigsby Revisited: The Arvada Center Turns 50
Two free gallery shows marking the Center's 50th, and the archive one is the better story. pARTy fills the Main Gallery with 18 Colorado artists, Koko Bayer and Moe Gram among them, while Rigsby Revisited rehangs the Upper Gallery with work from the Center's first solo exhibition in 1977. Free through November 8 at 6901 Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada. The galleries sit under the same roof as Sunday's closing matinee of Barefoot in the Park, so one drive covers two picks on this list.
5. Corn Maze at Chatfield Farms
Seven acres of corn cut into a Colorado 150 design, columbine and bighorn sheep included, on a working farm in Littleton. Open 9 AM to 5 PM on timed advance tickets, and the season closes November 2, so this is the last weekend you get in it. Buy the slot before you drive out there; this is not a walk up kind of afternoon.
6. Barefoot in the Park at the Arvada Center
Neil Simon's comedy closes Sunday at 1 PM with Katie Medved and Cam Davis as the Bratters, and a closing matinee is where a cast that has been running since September finally stops being careful. From $55 plus fees through the Arvada Center box office. Evening performances go at 7 PM Wednesday through Saturday, so Sunday at 1 is the end of the run.
7. Fall at DZCA at Denver Zoo
Saturday is the last day of the zoo's daytime fall program, and pumpkin carving only runs Friday through Sunday, so this weekend is both of your remaining shots at it. Cryptid characters and Animal Ambassadors come with regular daytime admission, 9 AM to 4 PM in City Park, with no separate ticket to buy. The optional Fall Attractions Pass is $14.95, or $9.95 for members, and adds the railroad, the carousel and animal feedings.
8. Elitch Gardens Fright Fest
Three haunts, Port of the Damned, Redcliff Ridge and CARN-EVIL, all included with general park admission, with season passes valid, through November 3. Hours move by day at 2000 Elitch Circle downtown: Friday 6 to 10 PM, Saturday noon to 11 PM, Sunday noon to 9 PM. Saturday is eleven hours of park on one ticket, which is the best math in this edition if the people you brought can take it.
9. Feeding Beatrice at the Aurora Fox Arts Center
A gothic horror comedy getting its regional premiere, closing Sunday with a 2 PM matinee at the Aurora Fox. Evening shows run at 7:30 PM, tickets land roughly between $17 and $45, and the Mainstage sits on East Colfax in the Aurora Cultural Arts District with a lot next to the theater. The pay what you can previews are long gone, but $17 for the closing weekend of a premiere is the cheapest seat in this edition.
10. 40 West Gallery Member Showcase (First Friday Opening)
Sunday is the last day of the biannual Member Showcase at The HUB at 40 West Arts, 6501 West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood. Free and open to the public, run by the 40 West Arts District nonprofit, with district members on the walls. The 5 to 9 PM hours belonged to the October 2 First Friday opening, so check posted weekend hours before you make the trip.
11. Boo at the Zoo at Denver Zoo
Nine candy stations, a Bog Witch, a Bigfoot and a mermaid, across two of the last nights on the schedule. Friday is the standard edition and Saturday is sensory friendly, with reduced sound, quiet rooms and kits for kids who need them, both running 4:30 to 9 PM in City Park. Late October nights are $27.95 for adults and $20.95 for youth, free under 2, and these dates typically sell out, so buy before Friday afternoon rather than at the gate.
