Murray Hill: SHOWBIZ! at Clocktower Cabaret

Murray Hill spent decades as a downtown New York drag king and variety host before HBO's Somebody Somewhere put the act in front of a national audience, and this tour is the version of that career told on purpose: a cabaret comedy set built around the memoir SHOWBIZ! My Life as a Middle-Aged Man, published by Simon and Schuster.

The touring show carries a live band billed as Baloney Sandwiches, which puts it closer to a variety broadcast than a book reading. VIP tiers add a meet and greet, a photo, and a book signing. It is the kind of national booking Clocktower lands a few times a year rather than a house production.

One night, Tuesday November 3, in the roughly 200-seat basement cabaret at 1601 Arapahoe Street. A touring act in a room this small is the scarcity here, and the VIP tier is capped by the signing line rather than the seat count. Downtown parking after 6 PM is metered street or the Arapahoe Street garages.
