A.J. Fullerton is one of Colorado’s own. He came up through the state’s blues circuit as a slide guitarist and roots songwriter before touring nationally, and he pairs with harmonica player Jake Friel at Swallow Hill on November 20.
Blues at a folk institution fits better than it sounds. The Tuft Theatre is a listening room, and a guitar-and-harmonica duo gains from an audience that stays quiet rather than one that talks over the second set.
