Denver retired its July 3 fireworks for a drone show, and the city’s free Indy Eve celebration now centers on Civic Center Park, where 300 drones light up images of Colorado landmarks after dark on July 3.
The evening, presented by the Civic Center Conservancy and the City and County of Denver, opens with a night market of food and makers, roaming circus performers and family art activities, then builds to an 8 p.m. set by the Colorado Symphony’s Brass and Percussion Ensemble and an LED circus production called United in Light.
The event runs 5 to 10 p.m. and is free and all-ages. It sits downtown by the light-rail lines; transit and an early arrival beat the closed streets and full garages around the park.
