Agave spirits usually reach Denver drinkers one bottle at a time behind a bar. This puts more than 30 producers on one lawn for an evening, most of them small craft distillers alongside names people know like Herradura and Tequila 3030, with the pours unlimited rather than sold by the ticket. It runs on the Auraria Campus at St. Cajetan's, the 1926 church that anchors what is left of the Auraria neighborhood cleared to build the campus.

The festival is co-founded by Marlene Bedoya of Agave Republic and Rachel Garcia of the Mexican Cultural Center, and the Cultural Center presents it. Alongside the tasting there are Mexican appetizers, mariachi, and art installations set across the church and the Lawrence Street plaza.

General admission is $85 and starts at 6:30 PM. VIP is $140, opens the gates an hour earlier at 5:30 PM, adds premium bottle pours and a parking code sent the day before, and includes an Agave Ambassador passport. Group rates start at ten people. The event is 21 and up, ends at 10 PM, and general admission does not include parking, so plan on the campus lots or the Auraria West light rail station.
