A pow wow is a living cultural gathering, not a performance staged for an audience, and the north metro does not get many of them on a calendar this accessible. The Arvada Center hosts this one on September 5.
Expect drum groups, intertribal and competition dancing, and regalia that families build and maintain across generations. Visitors are welcome. The standing etiquette at any pow wow is to ask before photographing dancers and to stand during honor songs.
