Baseball with no gloves, underhand pitching, and 1860s rules is a genuinely different game, and Heritage Lakewood stages it on the museum grounds where it belongs. The Base Ball Bout pits vintage clubs against each other playing the game as Coloradans first knew it.
The bout is Saturday, September 5 at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, the city's 15-acre history museum campus. The city lists it as a family event; check the Lakewood arts calendar for start time and any admission cost.
