Lakewood is marking two big anniversaries at once with a free July 3 party that ends in a drone show instead of fireworks. The Big Belmar Bash runs 5 to 10 PM at The Plaza at Belmar, honoring Colorado's 150th and America's 250th birthdays.
Belmar restaurants serve food and drink, kids' activities run through the evening, and a drone light show closes the night around 9:15 PM. Admission is free.
