Broomfield Days is the one day a year the city stops splitting the difference between two counties and behaves like a small town. The whole thing runs out of Midway Park at 1270 W Midway Boulevard: a community pancake breakfast to start, the Broomfield Days Parade coming down Midway Boulevard, and three stages of live music running through the afternoon.

The programming is deliberately unserious in the way a real hometown festival is. DockDogs sends dogs off a dock into a pool, there is a duck race and a children’s clown contest, a car show, pet farm animals and inflatables, alongside more than 300 booths and food trucks. The Mayor’s Cup 5K and Fun Run goes off in the morning with its own registration.
