Dessa blends rap, sung melody, and essayist's wordplay into one of the more literate acts in hip-hop, and catching her free at Levitt Pavilion is among the best values on Denver's summer calendar. Denver artist Kayla Marque opens, keeping a local voice on the bill.
Levitt's free concerts at Ruby Hill Park are first-come on the lawn, so arrive early for a close spot. Bring a blanket; the hillside has open sightlines to downtown.
