Badu rarely tours a room this small, and that is the reason to pay attention to the September 24 date. The Fillmore's roughly 3,900-capacity floor is a fraction of the arenas she can fill, which makes a standing-room Badu show in Denver a genuine scarcity.
She built the template a generation of R&B singers still works from, and her live sets lean on improvisation more than the records do. The Thursday slot is a school-night show, so plan transit and a late finish.
