A summer Mardi Gras ball in July is the kind of off-calendar oddity Denver does well, and the Krewe of Buddha throws one at Cervantes: a costumed, brass-and-funk party that borrows New Orleans krewe tradition and drops it into a Five Points ballroom in the middle of summer.
The ball starts at 7:30 PM on July 18 at Cervantes' Masterpiece Ballroom, 2637 Welton Street. Costume is part of the point, so expect a dressed-up room.
General admission. Check the venue page for the age policy and any costume guidance before you go.
