Chatfield Farms grows rows of lavender on its historic farmland southwest of Denver, and for one July weekend it opens them for cutting. The Lavender Festival lets visitors pick their own bundles straight from the field.
The two-day event on July 18 and 19 adds more than 100 makers selling lavender goods, live music, food and train rides across the working farm in Littleton. Tickets are timed and sell in advance; mornings are cooler and less crowded for picking. The site is a Denver Botanic Gardens property off Deer Creek Canyon Road.
