A city government running a two-day pirate festival sounds like a joke until you get to the sword fighting demonstrations. Northglenn has been doing this for years, and the format splits cleanly: Friday night belongs to adults, Saturday belongs to everyone.
Pirate Night on Friday, September 18 runs 6 to 10 PM and is 21 and up, with alcohol, live music on the Main Stage and sword fighting. Saturday, September 19 opens at 11 AM and runs to 8 PM as an all-ages day: bounce houses, crafts, mermaids posing for photos, character appearances and the same Main Stage music schedule.
