Three decades in, Old 97's still play like a bar band that happened to write a catalog of singalongs, and the Gothic's roughly 1,100-capacity floor is the right size for that energy. The July 23 show lands in the close-in south metro that the big-venue calendar usually skips.
Rhett Miller and the band are reliable touring veterans, so this is a known-quantity night out rather than a gamble. The 9:00 PM start is a true late show.
