Paul Cauthen sings country like a Texas preacher who took a wrong turn, a baritone big enough that fans call him Big Velvet and mean it as a description rather than a joke. The Book of Paul tour lands at Mission Ballroom on October 9.
Two openers are on the bill, which is more than the room usually gives: Rootbeer Richie and The Reveille, and Tristan Trincado. That pushes the headline set later, so the 8 PM listed start is when the night begins, not when Cauthen walks out.
