Summer Sounds: Shakedown Street at Aerostat Park

Shakedown Street has been playing Rocky Mountain rooms long enough to have picked up a second generation of regulars, and on September 19 the band plays for free on a lawn instead of inside a paid room. The City of Westminster books it as the closing night of its Summer Sounds series at Aerostat Park, the new park on the old Westminster Mall site at 5750 West Central Avenue.

Summer Sounds runs the third Saturday of the month, and the 2026 season ran Reckless and Blue in June, Jubilingo in July and Crazy Diamonds in August before this one. The city, the Westminster Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Westminster Business Association put it on together. Sets start at 6 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free and the city says outright to bring a blanket and pack a cooler, which makes this the rare outdoor concert where you are invited to carry in your own drinks. There is no reserved seating, so lawn position is first come. The sun is down in Westminster before the set ends in late September, so pack the layer.
