Once a year the Friends Foundation turns the Central Library into a black-tie party, and the money raised backs reading and community programs the city budget does not fully cover.
The Booklovers Ball is the foundation's flagship fundraiser, held in the recently renovated Central Library on Broadway across from Civic Center Park. Dress is formal, and tickets and tables sell through the foundation ahead of the night.
