Machinal is Sophie Treadwell’s 1928 expressionist play, a stylized, mechanical-feeling drama loosely drawn from a real murder case, and it is an ambitious choice for a small east-metro house. That ambition is the reason to go: it is a harder, stranger piece than the usual community-theater slate.
The run opens September 24 and continues through October 4, 2026 at The People’s Building on East Colfax. Reserve ahead through the venue calendar.
