Denver Film built its CO150 series around a simple premise for Colorado's sesquicentennial: the best cinema made in Colorado, about Colorado, or by Coloradans. "Red Dawn" makes the cut on the second count, its Soviet-invasion story set in the fictional Colorado town of Calumet even though the production shot elsewhere.
The screening is a single one-night showing at MCA Denver's Holiday Theater in the Highland neighborhood, part of a monthly rotation that has already run other titles and continues with "True Grit" and "Misery" in the following weeks.
