Tomeka Reid is one of the few bandleaders working in jazz on cello rather than bass, and her quartet, rounded out by guitar, bass and drums, has drawn national critical notice for stretching improvised music past its usual shapes. Creative Music Works, the Colorado 501(c)(3) that has presented touring improvisers in Denver for over a decade, books the show with MAS Presents.
The quartet plays 7 to 9:30 PM on Saturday, December 12, at the Bug Theatre, the small Highlands theater that is Creative Music Works' usual room for this kind of booking.
