A world premiere is the kind of thing Denver theatergoers travel for, and 504 is one: a new musical built around the 1977 occupation of a San Francisco federal building by disability-rights activists, the longest sit-in of a federal building in U.S. history. The story behind Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act gets a full Denver Center production before it goes anywhere else.
The premiere plays the Kilstrom Theatre, a smaller house in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, from August 6 through 23, which is a long enough run to catch on a weeknight when seats are easier.
