The stage version of Tim Burton's Beetlejuice leans all the way into the source material's green-and-black grotesquerie, which is exactly why it travels well. The Broadway production earned a cult following for its puppetry and set design, and the tour brings that machinery to the Buell for six days.
The run is August 4 through 9 at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, part of the Denver Center Broadway series. The show carries adult humor, so it skews older than a family musical despite the cartoon ghosts.
Doors and curtain times vary by date. The complex garage at 14th and Curtis is the closest parking; the Theatre District light rail stop puts you a block away.
