Denver Taiko has been playing the big, choreographed drums of Japanese taiko in the metro area for half a century, long enough to have trained multiple generations of local performers. The company's 50th-anniversary concert, titled Keio Kairai, is the kind of milestone show that draws alumni performers back alongside the current roster.
Saturday, August 29 at 7 PM in the Bunker Auditorium at the Green Center on the Colorado School of Mines campus in Golden. Admission is free, and free taiko concerts fill a fixed-seat auditorium, so arrive early rather than on time.
