EXPOSED [storytelling] at the Bug Theatre

When
Thu, Sep 24 · 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM, doors 7 PM
Where
The Bug Theatre, Denver
Price
$20 to $30

Denver has a deep live-storytelling bench, and EXPOSED sits at the blunt end of it. The show is built on what the producers call radical honesty: people telling true things about their own lives that they have not said out loud before, in front of a room of strangers on Navajo Street. The Bug seats around a hundred, which is the whole point. It is close enough that nobody gets to hide.

The night is produced by Yeah No Yeah productions, directed by Josie Nixon and hosted by Father Braun. The announced tellers are Fennel, Taylor Marxhausen, Danna White-Guerrie, Keeley Nickelson, and Zach Perelman. The producers say ticket money goes back into art and community work rather than into a promoter's pocket.

Tickets run $20 to $30 and the show is 18 and up. The listing warns for graphic language, adult content, and topics that can land hard, so read that before you buy for someone else. Doors are at 7 PM for a 7:30 start and it runs about two hours. The Bug is a 1912 nickelodeon house in a residential block, so parking is street-only and worth an extra ten minutes.
