The Railroad Garden at Hudson Gardens is a working outdoor model railway, and for the last stretch of the season the trains actually run rather than sit parked. It is one of the few free, no-ticket things in the south metro that holds a small kid's attention for an hour, and the operators are on site while the trains are moving.
The remaining 2026 running mornings are September 8, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26 and 29, plus October 1, all from 9 AM to noon. September 10 is cancelled. After October 1 the trains are done for the year.
