A public library that stays open past closing to fill itself with crime novelists is a specific kind of good idea, and Westminster runs one a year. MysteryCon 2026: WhoDunIt? takes over College Hill Library at 3705 West 112th Avenue on Saturday, September 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., after the building has shut to regular borrowers.
The library programs it around Colorado mystery authors, with meet-and-greets, themed activities, prizes and refreshments. This is a reader event rather than a panel conference, so the draw is talking to writers in the stacks instead of sitting through a keynote.
Admission is free and the age floor is 18 and over, which is the detail most people miss on a library listing. Registration runs through the Westminster Public Library calendar, and a free capped event inside a library building is the kind that fills before the date. College Hill sits on the Front Range Community College campus, so parking is the campus lot.
