Jeffrey Schrader, an associate professor of art history at the University of Colorado Denver, gives a single lecture on how the Spanish crown turned Marian imagery into an instrument of statecraft to shield its American colonies, a campaign that peaked in the 1630s and early 1640s.
The talk runs one 90-minute session, 6 to 7:30 PM, on Wednesday, October 21, at Museo de las Americas on Santa Fe Drive.
