Roger Clyne has one of the most self-sustaining fanbases in Southwest rock, built without label support for more than 25 years. He fronted the Refreshments, the Tempe band behind 'Banditos' and the theme music for 'King of the Hill,' then formed the Peacemakers in 1998 and has released records independently since.
The devotion is literal: the band's own Circus Mexicus gathering in Puerto Penasco, Mexico, pulls fans across the border every year for a multi-day run of shows, and the same crowd follows the tour through Front Range dates. That is why a band with no current radio presence still books rooms at this scale.
