DeeDee's Burlesque Book Club has a single premise it has run for years: take a book off the shelf and stage it as burlesque. For Halloween season the pick is Washington Irving's 1820 ghost story, which gives the troupe a headless horseman, a schoolmaster, and a bridge chase to work with.
The company is a Clocktower fixture, closing out August with an Alice in Wonderland run whose 7 PM show sold out, and it returns in December with a Christmas Carol revue. Sleepy Hollow is the middle chapter of that literary series and the only one falling inside Halloween season.
