This is the neighborhood answer to the big downtown Oktoberfest: a free street festival that shuts West 32nd Avenue in Highland for a single Saturday rather than two weekends near Coors Field. The third annual Highlands Oktoberfest runs September 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along 32nd from Julian to Perry.
The day pairs Munich beer and Bavarian food with a market of more than 80 local makers, a Kidtoberfest area for families, live music, and themed contests. Admission is free; beer and food are sold on site in the Highland Square commercial blocks at the heart of the route.
